Quick Links A message from Mayor Bill Rahn Mayor, Bill Rahn Dear Fellow Citizens, Spring is upon us and your Village of Westmont municipal government is getting ready for our many seasonal programs as well as other community activities. Following are several activities that I will take this opportunity to share with you. WATER RATE CHANGES For more than a month, the Village Board was considering a change to our community water service in regards to rates and billing cycles. This discussion was featured at Village Board Meetings and information was presented on our Village Website and in the local media. The rate increase was proposed to offset water service increases by our supplier, the City of Chicago. The new water billing cycle of every other month was recommended to create efficiencies for water meter reading as well as assist residents with more timely billings. This water rate increase and billing cycle change was approved at our Monday, March 17, 2008 meeting. This is the first water rate increase that the Village of Westmont has implemented in 15 years. It is important to note that neither of these changes will affect the excellent water service we provide to our residents and businesses. These changes will be implemented on August 1, 2008.
